Invoice Finance News – Bibby acquires Swedish factoring firm
UK based Invoice finance provider Bibby Financial Services Group has just acquired the Swedish factoring company Kopparberg Finans.
The acquisition deal, for an undisclosed sum, was in line with Bibby’s stated growth strategy to expand its operations base in recent years across Europe, North America, Australia and also the Far East.
Established in 2005, Kopparberg Finans based in Ljusnarsberg, central Sweden provides invoice finance and debt collection services to some 50 or so clients.
Bibby with its UK headquarters in Liverpool, has 11 offices across the UK and provides business cash flow products such as factoring and invoice discounting to small and medium sized enterprises. The firm provides around £290 million each year to 3,500 SME customers.
Factoring Finance is delighted to hear of the news. As more UK businesses are expanding into Europe and the Far East, cross border credit control management and invoice collection becomes more difficult should late payment problems arise. With invoice finance providers such as Bibby offering cross border services, local language barriers, distance factors and local customs become less of an issue.
